Reading your meter and submitting a meter read

If you want to learn how to read your meter or need assistance with submitting your own meter reading, you've come to the right place! Keep in mind however, that if you want to submit your own meter reading, you need to do so before the due date of your invoice, otherwise it may not be accepted.

Take a look at the steps below to submit your own meter read:

Step 1: Review your bill and look on Page 2 under the ‘Current Usage’ section. If you see the letter “E”, it means that you’ve received an estimated bill.

Step 2: Find your meter.

Step 3: Call Pacific Blue Retail on 133 669 Monday – Friday between 8am – 6pm and speak to our friendly customer service team. Alternatively, you can also take a clear photo of the meter digits and follow the information outlined below.

Step 4: Send the photo via email to along with the below information in the subject field: 

  • Your Pacific Blue Account Number
  • Your supply address
  • Your NMI (National Meter Identifier) for Electricity 
    These details can be found under ‘Property Summary Information’ on Page 2 of your bill.

After you submit your meter read, our Billing team will review it and provide you with an update on the outcome. Please keep in mind that generally, it takes around 3 to 5 business days for us to process your request.
